Los Angeles Times updates their social media guidelines for journalists on 21/11/2009

- Roanoke Times (VA, USA) worked with the Poynter Institute to update their news policies to include social media.

 

- Wall Street Journal management outlined their view on the 'professional conduct ' of staff, including the use of social media in this Memo republished in the Editor & Publisher. Related story in Time

Associated Press Board of Directors (06 April 2009) announced it would launch an industry initiative to protect news content from misappropriation online.

 

AP Chairman Dean Singleton said the news cooperative would work with portals and other partners who properly license content – and would pursue legal and legislative actions against those who don‘t.
